Scenario: You receive TOA on your 68 yr old patient at 0700. This patient was admitted 14 hours ago to the medical unit with respiratory distress. Diagnostics are pending. The patient has been on supplemental 02 via nasal prongs since admission to keep 02 sats above 92%. The patient has an IV in their left hand with NS TKVO (Normal Saline to keep vein open). You are told that the patient slept well overnight and only woke once to urinate independently and that the patient is drinking fluids and ate some toast before bed.
