You are a small business owner elected to serve on the local town council. Wal-Mart has proposed opening a Superstore in your city and at the next town council meeting, a vote will be taken to determine whether it is the city's best interest to allow it to do so. Assumptions students can make is that the city in question is about the same size as Warrensburg MO, or 16K, has a university located in it and a military installation a few miles outside of town. Wal-Mart has proposed opening up its standard-sized supercenter and asks for no special tax breaks in doing so. The main question: Is opening a Wal-Mart in this city/town the right thing to do for that town's citizens? NAY: Wal-Mart is not a good business to have in the city.
