Case: LEGAL CASE BRIEF - Assignment Instructions
In Slate submit your Legal Case Brief under: Assessments - Assignments
Use the Legal Case Brief Marking Rubric to make sure you have the right Format - the Headings are listed, and under each heading I have put in what each heading should contain in the case brief.
These Instructions, the Rubric and the Case to be Briefed have been uploaded to Slate
under the Contents: Assignments.
Your case brief should be no more than 3 pages, with the title/proper legal citation of the case at the top of the 1st page.
Underneath that, put your name(s), the course, and professor's name.
Write in plain language. In this Legal Brief you may use point form for each point/issue. [It should be written for an audience that has some understanding of the law but has not read the case. In other words, if you don't understand it, neither will I and I am grading it.]
My case brief on the Walford case that we discussed in class, can be used as an example, although note: I have taken out one of the Headings for this Legal Brief.
Please follow the Legal Case Brief Marking Rubric to use the required Headings.
You may do individually or with a partner. If you do work with another student, you must submit one case brief as a joint assignment with both names on the assignment, and you will receive the same grade. Do not submit two case briefs. You will receive the same grade as your partner. * If your partner does not contribute equally to the assignment, then it is up to you to sort this out with them.
