A sinusoidal wave traveling in the positive x-direction has an amplitude of 15cm, a wavelength of 40cm, and a frequency of 8Hz. The vertical position of an element of the medium at t=0 and x=0 has a displacement of 15cm.

(a) Find the wavenumber and angular frequency (expressed in terms of ! ), period, initial phase, and speed of the wave.

(b) Write down the wave equation using the numbers you calculated at (a) and graph the wave.

(c) Write down the wave function for a left traveling wave with the same parameters.
