A steady flow of water enters and exits a nozzle section with uniform velocity profiles as shown in the figure below. The cross-sectional geometry of the nozzle is a square. At point A, the length of a side is a meters, and at point B, the length of a side is b meters. At point A, the velocity is VA m/s.

-Starting with the hydraulic grade lineat A (HGLA), sketch in the HGL and EL(energy line) between points A and Band label the velocity, pressure, andelevation heads at points A and B. Assume no energy losses. Be as precise as possible when sketching and labeling.

-Write an expression for the acceleration at point B. The distance from A to B is c meters.

-Suppose the volumetric flow rate through the nozzle is increased at a rate of d m3/s2. What is the acceleration at point B now?
