Task
This assignment will focus upon curriculum development, both in terms of the National Curriculum statutory requirements, w ith a particular focus on reasoning in the curriculum and the ways in which this may be enacted in the classroom.
You should therefore, write an evaluative and critical reflection on your experience and/or knowledge and understanding of the enactment of the Primary National Curriculum and/or the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) in the classroom.
You should make clear how the implementation of schemes of work, through task design, pedagogy, resources and assessments, might contribute to meeting the requirements of the National Curriculum with a particular focus on reasoning. You should ensure that you refer to appropriate literature to support your arguments and refer to ‘Cite Them Right' to ensure that you are appropriately referencing, using the Harvard referencing system.
To accompany your critical reflection you should design a resource/activity for each of the core subjects that you might use to develop reasoning in the curriculum within a lesson. You are not required to submit any individual lesson plans, but just refer to how the lessons and resources designed may contribute to the overall curriculum and in particular opportunities for reasoning. You should make reference to your resources throughout your critical reflection.
Feed Forward Targets and Individual Learning Plans (ILP)
Trainees should carefully analyse the grades awarded and targets for future work on all assignments; they should also make a copy of the marked work and store it in their ePortfolio.
It is a requirement that grades and targets for all assessments are recorded on your Individual Learning Plan (ILP), which should be up to date and available for staff to view at all times. It is the responsibility of the trainee to transfer their targets from the previous assignment to the subsequent one.
