Stanley Milgram conducted his research on obedience in the 1960s. The findings of his research are still relevant.
• Read pages 226-229, "The Milgram Experiments." Write a two-page report based on the following topics with respect to Milgram's research:
o Social Influence
o Obedience to authority
o Ethics
• On page 229, you will see that Milgram was "severely criticized for exposing participants to psychological distress, embarrassment, and loss of dignity." Do you think the experiment was ethical? Why or why not? Is this an experiment you would have agreed to participate in? Why or why not?
