Question B: Informed closely by the textbook, other required sources and using your sociological imagination, explore how social class and race shapes your/your family's life and the society in which you live. You can explore this solely in the past, or solely in the present only, or a combination of the past and the present.
• Do NOT divide the essay into two parts. Keep and show linkages between society (the macro- institutional level) and YOU -individual-family (the micro level) at all times throughout the essay.
• To explore this question, you must identify and convince the reader what social class your family and/or your self belongs to and what your racial location (identity) is, as well as inform the reader of the city and state in which you live (is it urban/suburban...). You need to do this to show how these locations impact how you (and your family) experience the pandemic. For example, in terms of your social class location, it will be important to focus on some of its defining features to help you explore the question.Be aware of the ways that social class and race connect/intersect in your life and in the society in which you live.
