Problem 1 -

For the rotational system with lossless gears shown below, 

a) Draw equivalent system diagram by removing shaft 2 and 3.

b) Write an equation of motion and obtain transfer function, G(s) = θ2(s)/T(s).

c) Find the system output θ2(t), if system input T(t) is a unit step function and all initial conditions are zero. Tell the nature of system response.

d) Plot the system response and print it out. Remember to use your name and problem # as figure title and also label your plot.

For example: So for question 2 it says to remove shafts 1 and 3. So the only shaft you would work with is the second one. So ignoring shafts 1 and 3 only focus on shaft 2 and that is what the problem is based on. You would only use shaft 2 information to work out the problem. above each shaft is the shaft number. Ignore part d for both questions I will do that myself.
