Write an educational announcement focusing on one of the topics we looked at in the course e.g. residential schools, stereotypes, Indigenous voices and culture, the Truth and Reconciliation movement, sovereignty, treaties, and protests that could be read to an audience during a National Day for Truth and Reconciliation assembly.

The National Day for Truth and Reconciliation is a day of education and ACTION. Your education goal is to (1) provide an overview of the topic you have chosen and to state its significance to Canadians wishing to understand more about their history. Your action goal is to present to your audience ways to get involved in the reconciliation process. Research and present at least 5 ways your audience can be part of the reconciliation process - e.g. events, specific actions, local initiatives, etc.

The announcement should be about 300 words. Note: this is a fact-based announcement. You may use readings from the course; you may also do independent research. Keep track of your sources; the written submission of your announcement must contain a Works Cited page with MLA-style citations. Finally, be sure to use language that acknowledges and engages your audience and to refer to the significance of the day in your speech.
