Structure: Your essay should have FIVE paragraphs:

Should be no longer than 5-6 sentences Use an attention grabber / hook
Must include a strong posItlonithesis statement with 3 sub-polnts written In parallel structure

• Body (Paragraphs 2. 3, and 4)
Each body paragraph focuses on one of your three subpoints in the same order they ate presented in your position/thesis statement

• Use effective, concise word choices. For example, do not use the word 'thing'
• Watch for the use of the word this without using a clear reference following
• Speak with authority when defending your position.

• Do not use any contractions
• Proofread for accurate sentence stnicture, spelling, punctuation, subject/verb agreement. pronoun agreement, and subjective words (these need to be eliminated)
