Write an argument essay (persuasive) on a topic from the list below. Your argumentative (persuasive) essay requires you to take a stand on an Issue. You must then suppon your position with at least three strong supporting points

Structure: Your essay should have FIVE paragraphs:
• Introduction: (Paragraph 1)
Should be no longer than 5-6 sentences Use an attention grabber / hook
Must include a strong posItlonithesis statement with 3 sub-polnts written In parallel structure
• You may need a transillon /bridging sentence to the body
• Body (Paragraphs 2. 3, and 4)
Each body paragraph focuses on one of your three subpoints in the same order they ate presented in your position/thesis statement
Each body paragraph should follow standard paragraph format that Includes-.
• Transitional word or phrase
• Topic sentence
• Supporting details lot each of your main points In your topic sentence
• Point - explanation / analysis - example or other supporting details
• Bridge / transition to your next point from your thesis
statement
• Use logical, convincing support, details, and evidence to support your point
• Consider the opposing points of view (limned rebuttal)
• Refrain from repetition. fallacies, generalizations
• Must be unified, coherent, and well developed
• Every semence needs to relate to your thesis statement or your topic sentence

Include a clincher or closing technique Use a simple (paraphrased) version of your thesis statement to bring the essay lull circle

Writing Style & Grammar
• Use effective, concise word choices. For example, do not use the word 'thing'
• Watch for the use of the word this without using a clear reference following
• Speak with authority when defending your position.
• Use only 3'd person pronouns
• Do not use any contractions
• Proofread for accurate sentence stnicture, spelling, punctuation, subject/verb agreement. pronoun agreement, and subjective words (these need to be eliminated)
• Use 12 pt font, Indent 15, sentence of each new paragraph, user margins and left Justify
