Question: This week, we looked closely at a particular kind of animation known as stop-motion. Some people argue that stop motion feels more real than drawn animation or CG animation, because it is made using "real" objects in the tactile world.
For your short response assignment this week, please analyze some of the stop motion work you watched on the previous page and answer the following two questions. Make sure to use specific examples from at least two specific films we watched this week.

2 films I choose to give an example are Lip Sync: Creature Comforts (Original Short), Behind the scenes of Wes Anderson's Isle of Dogs, 2018.

What are some strategies that you think the directors used to make the stop-motion animation seem "more real"?
What are some of the ways that the character's personalities are conveyed in these works? Think about how the design choices with the characters' clothing and facial expressions help to underscore their personalities.
