Character Evaluation
I am going to write about the movie Coal Miners Daughter, the story is about Loretta Lynn. This is my favorite movie, because it teaches us that just because you live in poverty it does not mean that is where you have stay. Loretta Lynn grew up in a small cabin with seven of her siblings, what was about to happen to her at the age of 14 would have never been a thought in her head. She would sing on her front porch to her siblings and everyone would stop to listen. Because of where Loretta came from school was not in her future, she would have to find things around the house to do to help her mother.
Loretta had to grow up fast after finding herself in love and getting married all at the age of 14, back then this was normal, the man would coal mine and the women stayed home cleaning and raising babies. This is exactly what Loretta found herself doing, her first baby came within the first year of marriage. Loretta went on to become a fulltime mother and her husband worked in the coal mine.
After Loretta's father passed something changed her mind about living in poverty for the rest of her life. Loretta knew she had a gift and she wanted to find a way to use it (singing). Loretta now can be labeled as having the trait openness, her imagination was higher than before and she was not stopping until she found what she was looking for. You can say she had the trait Extraversion, she came out of her shy shell and started communicating with many people. Loretta was no longer a shy little girl at home raising children, she was now driving to all radio stations making sure they played her record.
Loretta became an amazing singer and was able to change her whole life from living in a small cabin to building her own ranch the way she wanted it to be built. Loretta no longer let people make decisions for her, she was now able to be Conscientiousness. Before she became independent she would look to her husband for all the answers. Loretta no longer looked to others for the answers she was able to do for herself for a change. Loretta made it known just because someone comes from poverty does not mean this is where you have to live your whole life. She was an amazing women and an inspiration to many.
