EXERCISE
The Federal Reserve Board plays an important role in analyzing and regulating the economy. In this exercise we will look at a couple of important reports that it provides. Go to www.federalreserve.gov.
1. Enter Beige Book in the searchspace and click on search.
2. Now click on "Beige Book." This book represents an important report that the Fed puts out describing economic conditions in various parts of the country. it is taken very seriously by stock and bond market investors.
3. Find the latest report on the calendar (the years are located at the bottom of the page) and click the HTML link on that date.
4. Next, on the left-hand side of the screen, click on the area of the country (Federal Reserve district) that covers your hometown.
5. Write a three-paragraph report on your area of the country.
