Overview: This assignment requires you to summarize the "Gathering Supporting Materials" chapter of our textbook, Invitation to Public Speaking by Cindy L. Griffin (5th Edition). In fitting with the student learning outcome the university desires for this general education course (that you have "an effective understanding and use of written and spoken forms of communication"), the goal is to get you familiarized, through experience, with summarizing written texts.
