The traditional model of disaster recovery is typically based on a combination of local backup schemes, possible rental of hot or cold sites, and replacement telecom arrangements. However, the current rise of a variety of cloud services that support remotely accessed storage and applications has presented a variety of hybridized disaster recovery schemes. A growing number of vendors now offer disaster recovery-as-a-service (DRaaS) options.
