Visitor Behaviour and Management Assignment -
Assessment Title - Role of destination agencies in increasing the visitor economy of a region, city or country
Assessment Instructions - In Groups of 3-4, you will be allocated a destination agency - eg State or National Tourism Agency, Tourism Australia, Destination NSW, Business Events Sydney or an equivalent overseas agency.
You are required to evaluate the strategies they have articulated and implemented relating to increasing the visitor economy for a region, city or country (for NSW REGION IN AUS).
1. Prepare a PechaKucha presentation (20 slides x 20 seconds each).
2. Write a 1500 word report evaluating the infrastructure, principles and practices, risk management, stakeholders, promotion and support the agency provides for the destination.
The Report must be well researched (based on relevant and reliable sources) and written in an academic style, approx. 1500 words in length.
The main criteria for success:
1. Insight - The report should demonstrate an in-depth understanding of the destination/attraction experiential services and qualities, and tourist/visitor motivation theory.
2. Substantiation - The report should be underpinned by course material and additional readings around the topic.
3. Clarity and structure - The report should be well structured and clearly presented.
Note - Only report required of 1500 words. Chosen agency is DESTINATIONNSW.
