In the textbook: Strengths Finder 2.0. New York, NY: Gallup Press, Rath, T. (2007) or newer. If you purchase a used book you will not likely be able to complete the "online" assessment. The Strengths Finder online Assessment is in a red packet, the second last page in the Strengths Finder book. When you open the red packet it will have a code to access the online Assessment on their website. If you have purchased a used book, you can still take the Strengths Finder online Assessment but you will have to pay an additional fee.

Complete the Strengths Finder Assessment online then read all the sections that apply to your individual results. After completing your online assessment, complete the assignment.

Using the information you collected from your StrengthsFinder online assessment and the related readings in the text, write a reflective paper about your strengths and how they apply to your future career. In your paper you must do the following:

In two to three paragraphs, reflect on your five strengths (including your initial reactions to these strengths and what you discovered about yourself in the process - clearly name and reflect on your five strengths).

Pick one of your strengths and in one paragraph, relate it to one of the nine public safety organizational competencies from the learning object in Module 1. In other words, how does this strength support the competency chosen?

In one paragraph, explain how you plan to continue to develop the strength identified above. This plan should be specific, measurable, attainable, realistic and timely (SMART goals).

From your own perspective, list one of your weaknesses and describe, in very specific detail, your plan(s) for improvement in this area. This plan should be specific, measurable, attainable, realistic and timely (SMART goals). For example, if you have identified "writing skills" as a weakness, what specific action steps will you take to improve? You may suggest that in your next English class that you will regularly seek assistance from the supports provided at Lethbridge College, Learning Café. This section of your assignment should be one to two paragraphs.
