Write a Project proposal- Instructions
The final project is a three part assignment leading up to an argumentative essay utilizing library research.
The Shopping is inspired from your section of the book.
Part I: The proposal
A: The Library -
- Bring an idea for a topic based on popular culture/Culture politics.
B: Submit a proposal that details:
- your proposed thesis (yes, it can and probably will change)
- what you already know about the topic (previous experience or observations
- what you think you will find in doing your research - what types of sources do you intend to use interview, newspapers, personal accounts etc. (you may use the article given as a source)
- This should be about 500 words in essay format.
Part II: The Annotated Bibliography
A: Your annotated bibliography -
-should contain 3-5 sources that you will be using for your paper.
-should have at least one book, one website, and one article. The others might be articles that you intend to use. (For your final paper, you may NOT use more than one website.)
-must have a cover page with your name, the class, topic, and my name.
- must contain research journal sheets (one for each source). Available on moodle.
B. MLA Handbook
Use your book to properly cite sources and create an annotated bibliography. This website shows an example annotated biblio. Please note - all sources should be in alphabetical order. (there is also an example annotated bibliography on moodle.
Part III: The Paper
Topic and Task: The topic is from your section of the book. The essay is to be a researched argument. This means there is research, but it does not dominate your paper. Your opinion is first and foremost in the argument; the research is to back up or clarify, in some way, your ideas or opinions.

Body paragraphs (Toulmin style works great here) Counterargument/tum back
