Case Scenario

Your name is Irene Wilson. You work at Toronto Hospital and your position is Head of Public Relations. You are organizing a fundraiser for the hospital. It will be a charity dinner held in the auditorium of the hospital on Friday, June 30. There will be 50 tables and you are expecting about 500 people to attend. In order to make the most money possible, you are asking local businesses to make contributions.

You have noticed that patients in the hospital often receive flowers from a florist called Elegant Flowers. You have never been to the store. You have never met the manager, but you were able to find out his name from a business card a patient gave you. You are hoping that he will donate the flowers for your event. You have some ideas about what you would like, but you are also hoping to get some suggestions from him.

Task

Write a persuasive request letter to Phil Almond, the manager of Elegant Flowers. Ask him to contribute by providing flowers for the event free of charge.

Be sure your message is properly formatted, well designed, and well-edited. Be sure to read the relevant materials in the Week 6 Class Materials folder before you begin.
