PART 1 - Read the press release: Baby's First Years. This is about a recent study of infant brain development. The press release contains a link to a published journal article if you would like to read a more complex description of the study and results. However, you can do the assignment based on the press release about the study.

PART 2 - Write an essay to address the following points.

1. Write a paragraph with a short summary of the experiment and results.

2. Write two paragraphs in which you generate two possible reasons for these results. For each reason, describe the possible reason and explain how/why it would lead to the results. Make a case for your idea. (Cite your textbook and other sources that you use.)

3. This is a longitudinal study. Write a paragraph to give the authors some advice for additional data (besides brain activity) that they should collect when the children are five years old. What data would you like to see? Why?
