The first step in the Model of Scientific Inquiry is to identify the question or problem needing further study. The following seven situations are typical everyday problems in business. For each of these situations, write a one-sentence problem statement in each of the three formats 1) Infinitive 2) Interrogative 3) declarative. An illustration was given in the lecture. Think through each one carefully because the statements are only as good as the thinking behind them. Remember, each statement must be clear as to what question needs answered to solve the problem. 1. A major producer of frozen dairy desserts wants to know the characteristics of its consumers. 2. A vacuum cleaner manufacturer wants to know how perspective customers view their vacuums in comparison to the top three sellers in the U.S. 3. The owner of the Gold Coast Apartment Complex is engaging a contractor to build a new club house and wants to know the preferences of the tenants on this new facility.
