Integration of its business processes with IT has been one of the critical success factors for Fresh Grocers. A transaction support database system has been deployed in the company that provides an efficient and consistent order management systems and point of sales in all of its 40 stores.

Over the ten year period, Fresh Grocers' operational database system has accumulated huge amount of data about customer demands, orders and inventory management. The new CIO of the company Sam Jones wants to look at using the existing data from the operational database to support decision making for management in order to gain competitive advantage.
