Memo instructions: Find a professional in your desired career and ask him or her about two things:
the kinds of writing needed in that career
whether or not the career relies on social media, and if so, what kind and to what extent
Based on the interview, write a memo to the Organizational and Leadership Strategy (OLS) department head explaining what the MCOM 320 course should emphasize as critical communication skills in your career.
Before you write the memo, do the following two sub-assignments:
Explain in a paragraph the audience, purpose, and strategy of the memo and why you chose that strategy.
Create a bottom-up outline using a three-column structure.
Additional Guidelines for the Memo

Apply correct grammar and mechanics (see the textbook's appendix).
Apply sentence guidelines for structure, language, and length (see the textbook's appendix).
