QUESTION - WRITE A LETTER TO THE EDITOR OF A JOURNAL.

There are 2 parts to this task:

(1) Identify a topic that you are interested in. Topics should be in the areas of disease prevention and management. Examples of topics may be infectious disease (such as COVID), risk factor for non- communicable disease (hypertension, obesity, smoking, diet, physical activity), non-communicable disease (e.g. diabetes, cardiovascular disease, cancer, dementia and others).

(2) Write a letter to the editor on the topic. In the letter, bring a new perspective to the topic that advances knowledge. For example, if your topic is COVID, then your letter may draw attention to a novel as aspect of COVID such as how it disproportionately affects ethnic minorities, or the extent of the economic impact, or its affect on poverty or contact tracing or use of COVID apps. (N.B: your topic does not have to be on COVID. This is an example only).

Your 'letter to the editor' must have the following features:

1. Introduction: orientates the reader and summarises the current situation on the topic.

2. Body: presents the point that you are making

3. Conclusion: articulates the lessons learned and future actions/implications.

4. Appropriate in text citations and reference list.
