Instructions: Write a formal business report on one of the academic skills you have covered, (OTHER THAN HARVARD REFERENCING AND PLAGARISM you cannot use these topics for your report, as you will have covered this in the presentations) in the module and how you can use the topic you have chosen to improve and develop your business writing skills for the future.
This report should clearly identify the academic skill you have chosen to write on.
1.0 INTRODUCTION
• State what is the purpose of the report specifically identifying the area of academic skills chosen i.e. communication, time-management etc.
• Justify why this area was specifically chosen and how this would prove to be beneficial to you in the future. Why is this topic important? Useful?
• State that the use of pertinent academic sources would be integrated throughout.
2.0 CRITICAL ANALYSIS OF COMMUNICATION (CHOSEN AREA).
• In this section a critique of a suitable range of the academic sources in relation to chosen topic is required. Here you should mention what the leading academics in the field say one should have and say what skills you currently possess. Doing this you would be able to highlight your inconsistencies/ gaps with regards to the chosen topic.
• Justification should be given to specifically highlight that this is lacking within your skill set. You can give examples from group presentations, personal life or work life. Try NOT to be descriptive but do capture in your examples your flaws.
• Depending on chosen area you can use sub-headings where necessary.
• Clearly define the parameters of chosen topic i.e. communication process, methods of communication etc. note: incorporate only relevant information to the chosen topic.
• Note: link topic chosen to other areas but do not lose focus of topic chosen.
3.0 CONCLUSION
• Here give a clear summary of the key findings from your analysis. Specifically highlighting your inconsistencies / flaws 4.0 RECOMMENDATIONS.
• For each flaw you identify, using the academic sources mentioned. Say what needs to be done in order to improve on your current self.
• Provide a rationale for the recommendations presented. Spcifically state how this would improve your personal development and growth/ make you a better person in the future etc.
