1. Short Assignment: A Film Character Analysis

Write a film character analysis. This does not need to be essay type (no page limitation). Select a film that deals with human growth development (child, adolescent, & adult development) (e.g., Into the Wild (2007), What's Eating Gilbert Grape (1993), Stand and Deliver (1988), An Education (2009), Precious (2009), etc). Choose the major characters and environment (e.g., family, school, peer, etc.) and analyze their emotional, behavioral, cognitive, and/or social development and issues using theories you have learned in the class (as many as possible) (e.g., you can use Erikson's ego-identity development with Gilbert's identity formation, or apply constructivism (Vygotsky) in the school environment of Stand and Deliver). Provide your insights based on your expertise to help the characters. Add implication for educators, etc. 

This assignment aimed to combine your knowledge of human growth and development with your application to cases.

2: A film Character Analysis

A) Select any film that deals with human growth and development (child, adolescent, & adult development) (e.g. Into the Wild (2007), What's Eating Gilbert Grape (1993), Stand and Deliver (1988), An Education (2009), Precious (2009), etc).

B) Choose the major characters and environment(s) and analyze/discuss their emotional, behavioral, cognitive, and social development and issues using theories you have learned in the class (as many as possible) (e.g., you can use Erikson's ego-identity development with Gilbert's identity formation, or apply behaviorism (Skinner) and constructivism (Vygotsky) in the school environment of Stand and Deliver). Don't forget to cite and provide references.

C) Provide your insights based on your expertise and knowledge to help the characters or situations.

D) Generate a discussion question.
