Assessment - Case Study Analysis

Learning Outcomes - Completing this assessment item will help you achieve the following learning outcome/s:

1. Critically analyse various explanatory theories of child abuse and neglect and how these shape practice.

2. Demonstrate skills in inter-professional collaboration and communication.

3. Design interventions using case scenarios.

4. Understand contemporary approaches to intervention with children at risk of child abuse and neglect.

Case study: Children, Families & Child Protection

Instructions - Write a case study analysis which discusses and analyses the case study provided. Write this analysis regarding the later stages of the case (i.e., from the information provided at ONE YEAR LATER) although information sought earlier in the case may be useful for the analysis and can be included. Students need to address the following in their assignment. The assignment should be written in report format;

- An introduction to the assignment: including a thesis statement

- Facts of the case

- A description of the WA legislation that relates to this case study and the parts of the Act that are relevant

- Risk assessment for each of the children

- Strategies to address the risks

- Conclusion

Include a justification for their analysis, including using good literature. Resources and information provided this will be helpful for this assignment should demonstrate their research ability by sourcing materials outside those provided in the unit.
