Assessment - Business Plan Report
1. This individual assignment requires you to write a business plan report of approximately 2500-3000 words for the business idea that you proposed in assessment 1.
2. The Business Plan report must include -
• Executive summary (500-800 words)
• Main report (2000-2500 words)
Task
• You are required to expand upon the idea of a new business identified in Assessment 1 to indicate how the idea can be developed into a potentially successful and purposeful venture.
• This assessment task provides you the opportunity to enhance your research, analysis, critical thinking, written and oral communication skills, particularly in the areas of developing an argument in the context of a new business plan.
Business Plan Report
• Executive Summary
• Business Description: Description of the proposed new business and compelling justification for the 'need' of the new business idea. In other words, is there a real- world 'need' for its product or service? Is it offering a potential solution to a real problem?
• Discussion on the proposed legal or organisation structure (and/or any Intellectual Property plan, if applicable) for your new business venture.
• Required business plan elements included in the report- a discussion on industry/target market, competitor analysis, marketing, operational and financial plan. In addition, a compelling explanation of all these elements within the business plan
• Use of the business model canvas to illustrate elements important to developing your social or commercial business.
• Report Quality: Demonstrated quality of research and correct use of the APA referencing, correct use of the report structure and appropriate conventions of academic writing.
Report Structure Template
• Title page (not included in word count). Include a cover page including- (i) unit name and number, (ii) assessment number, (iv) name with student ID,
(v) WORD COUNT (mandatory)
• Executive summary (500-800 words)
• Table of contents (not included in word count)
• List of tables and figures, if used (not included in word count)
• Body of the Report- Business Plan. This is included in word count.
• Reference list
• Appendices (not included in word count). Include Business Model canvas, Startup Costing sheet (Budget template) and any additional figures or tables in appendix.
