1. Business Letter:
Write a one and a half - page business letter to one of the companies on the hand-out list. (Never underestimate the power of a well written letter!)
You are a team member of a large promotional campaign: Focus: What is the "benefit" this company will gain from your product or service!
You can make your own company name, but use the UMASS address
Make sure you put YOUR NAME in the address.(Use a company from the sample address page attached. Make sure you include the zip code) SUGGESTIONS FOR NAMES: Going Green.com or Go Green.com.
Your company promotes all, or one of the following services:
1. Up to date Recycling
2. Contributions and Investments - Projects for the Environment
3. Campaign to use less paper
4. OR, Anything else you can think of
This letter is a promotional letter. It should demonstrate the principles of persuasion and needs to have at least four paragraphs. Proper format, grammar, capitalization, concision, and proper vocabulary are required. Make sure you sign the letter. (READ BLACKBOARD Persuasive Messages in Persuasive Folder.
2. Professional EMAIL:
Send a business email to the same company the letter is addressed to:
Introduce yourself, your company, and your purpose.
State that you sent a letter (include date) and request an appointment to meet with them, in order to introduce your company's services.
Print the email. YOU determine what to write in the subject line. Make sure you use an email FOOTER. (Contact info)
3. MEMO Writing:
Send a MEMO to your office advising they make time for a presentation of "Story of Stuff" Annie Leonard
