Homework: Clinical Conditions- Applying Theories to a Short Story

Objective: The purpose of this activity is to utilize Bloom's Taxonomy level IV & V to assist students in examining and supporting their knowledge and understanding of the various Frames of Reference (FoR) within the OT profession. This process helps the students process what they have learned and analyze the information at different levels.

Instructions:

After the class session where frames of references (FoR) are discussed and learned, students are to write a brief short story of a time in their childhood. The story should be about an event that happened in their past, individually, with a sibling, or with a relationship, etc. It could be a funny story or about a time they learned a lesson.

Next, students are to write a summary of the situation from the point of view of two FoR. The students should point out the key concepts regarding the particular theories and how it relates to their short story.

This homework will help guide the students to better understand and be able to contrast the differences between each FoR discussed throughout the course by looking at their story through different perspectives.
