Assignment: Intrinsic Motivation Response Paper

A. Decide on a topic: Decide on a topic in Psychology that you find especially interesting. The topic may be something we have discussed in class or something you read in the text. It is up to you to decide on a topic, but if you need help narrowing down your choices, feel free to ask for help.

B. Locate relevant sources of information on your topic: After picking a topic, you will be required to find 2 relevant sources of information (e.g., reputable websites or scholarly research journal articles). Many journals are available on-line, but you can also make hard copies of journal articles in the library.

C. Write the paper: Your paper should be 2 pages, double-spaced (typed), 10-point font, using APA format for references in text and on your reference page. Be sure to proofread for spelling and grammatical errors and utilize the writing center if needed.

I. Paper content: First, write a brief (no more than 6 sentences) introduction of your topic, including any relevant information from the text, lesson notes, and other outside sources.

II. Second, provide a statement that reflects your personal interpretation or analysis of what you learned. This statement can also be about how this topic is personally relevant, relevant to someone you know or relevant to the world in general. (This should be the bulk of your paper). In this part of your paper, elaborate on your own ideas and opinions, but be sure to provide support for your ideas.

D. Turn in the paper: Papers should be submitted in Assignments on Sakai. Due dates/time are indicated on the course syllabus. Late papers will be penalized.
