CHAPTER 3 - Strategic Human Resource Management and the HR Scorecard

In chapter 3, we linked the Human Resource functions with strategy. We explained the importance of strategy to a company, and explained the role of HR in achieving the goals and objectives of the upper management.

Your assignment is search the Inter net for 3 different companies.

a. Write a brief history about the company (the company, the industry, products/services sold, background... etc.)

b. What is the vision of these companies? The mission? The company strategy?

c. From (b) above, explain in simple terms what you understand from the mission and vision of each company.

d. As an HR specialist, write in your own words what the mission/vision/strategy translates to in terms of HR terms (e.g., expanding: need more people; contracting: less people?). explain your answer.
