Assessment Details

Students need to provide a self - reflection report on own learning that includes narrative and critical analytical thinking. The self-reflection should focus on the following learning outcomes.

[ULO1] Demonstrate an understanding on regulations, the law and business ethics in organisations.

[ULO2] Demonstrate an understanding of the organisational values that support ethical decision making.

[ULO3] Evaluate the implications of social and public pressure for ethical behaviour in organisations.

[ULO4] Identify and respond to ethical dilemmas that threaten the organisation and industry.

[ULO5] Promote an organisation's corporate responsibility through values internally and to stakeholders in the media.

• Explain your learning on all of the FIVE unit learning outcomes (ULO)

• Your self-reflection should connect your learning to specific aspects of the experience, the learning should be significant and relevant, and statements should be based on evidence and supported with examples.

Case study: How Tumi Cut Inventory and Increased Sales

Exercise:

Imagine you are a manager of a company which is also running a business like TUMI with similar capital and infrastructure. It has many departments such as sale, marketing, finance, HRM etc. By reading the above article, you are motivated to upgrade your system to ERP. You are required to make a business proposal to convince your CEO about installing ERP system in your company. You must address the followings in your proposal through considerable amount of literature review.

1. What is Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP)? Its benefits and limitations.
2. Why do you believe your company should be upgraded with ERP?
3. List the top 10 brands which offer ERP solution to SMEs.
4. Do a comparative analysis among of them.
5. Which brand do you think is feasible to your company, other than SAP, and why? Justify your arguments with a detailed cost benefit analysis.

Assessment Details:

Students are required to conduct self-reflection associated with personal learning. You are required to identify the key issues and findings from your learning outcomes Reflection on learning and progress is based on the following:

1. After studying different types of information system that can be used for business management. Discuss how the management information system can be practically applied in the manufacturing, medical and education sectors.

2. In Week-3, you studied the advantages and disadvantages associated with the implementation of an enterprise resource planning system. SAP R/3 software application is an example of ERP system, in your opinion, do your think SAP R/3 is the best application for all business? Justify your answer.

3. Artificial intelligence (AI) systems form a broad and diverse set of systems that can replicate human decision making for certain types of problems. In week-4, discuss the Business Intelligence and Knowledge Management. Reflect your understanding with the support of examples, the techniques of using the AI in supporting Knowledge Management system in making correct decision.

4. Do you believe it is ethical and legal for the executives to monitor or spy their employee's online behaviour and activities? Why or why not?

5. Would you spy on your employee's online activities once you become a leader of an organization? Why or why not?

6. Could you give a real example or evidence where employees are caught up for their immoral online behaviour? If you were the leader of that company how would you deal with that situation?
