A small community hospital opens a new Cardiac Surgical unit where physicians will be performing CABG procedures (coronary artery bypass grafts), as well as cardiac catherizations, for the first time. The hospital is proudly promoting the new service, as patients previously had to go to a somewhat distant regional medical center for such services. This hospital has also recently launched a CDI initiative to assist physicians in more specifically and thoroughly documenting relevant secondary diagnoses.
