Question
An issue that Bob is facing is that he is allowing shipments to be sent to customers that contained defects. One way to fix the issue is to make that section a two-partner team. Adding an additional person can complete a checking system creating an overseer. The overseer can be the person who finalize the review of the product before it is shipped. Bob maybe overwhelmed with the work load and not realizing the defects in the shipment.
When delivering bad news to an employee it is best to have a solution to fix the issue. Deciding which channel to communicate to deliver the message also comes with advantages and disadvantages (Cardon, 2016). For example, if a message is through verbal delivery the response is immediately but may hinder effective deliver and interpretation (Cardon, 2016).
Before speaking to Bob about the issue as a manger I would involve every layer. I would analyze the situation and plan thoroughly to conclude a situation. While constructing the solution I will also develop my ideas in a way that I able to structure the message appropriately. Finally, I would speak to Bob addressing the situation verbally.
When speaking to Bob, the severity and controllability will be considered. I also would send an email for written delivery about the things that were discussed including the solution. In the email I will ask for feedback on how he think the situation can fixed since he works in that department daily.

Describe how the changes proposed in the above post could be implemented on a larger, department-wide scale to ensure all employees are informed and the issues can be avoided. Would the same change management principles work when applied to the organization, or would changes have to be made?
