World of global food distribution

Module we will tranisition away from the personal and familial and into the world of global food distribution. This is a large topic that covers many aspects of our daily lives. For this week's reading please read chapter "Financialization in the Food System," pages 497-511, in our online textbook, Food Studies: Matter, Meaning and Movement. After you finish reading the chapter pay close attention to the discussion questions at the end of the chapter and see if one interests you more than the others. Spend a few moments researching and writing down your thoughts about that question.

Next choose from one of the food documentaries listed below to watch in in addition to our reading this week. As you watch the film see if the topic from the discussion question you chose is addressed in the film. And as always watch the documentary closely taking notes on anything you find surprising or interesting.
