In today's world with covid-19 impacting all of us in our country and throughout the world, we see economic upheavals, downsizings, layoffs, and bankruptcies that have cost hundreds of thousands of workers their jobs. Millions more have been shifted to unfamiliar tasks within their companies and wonder how much longer they might be employed. Adding to the pressures that workers face are issues such as wearing and using PPE (and requiring customers to wear facemasks, etc,), new bosses, computer surveillance of production, potentially fewer health and retirement benefits, and the feeling they have to work longer and harder just to maintain their current economic status. Sometimes the overwhelming stress of dealing with any or all of these issues has caused workers at every level to experience increased tension and uncertainty, which may (and has in some cases) lead to workplace violence.
