Workplace conflict intersects with value-based conflict in many ways. Whether experiencing conflict personally or professionally, values play a large part in how it affects us and our perspective on the issues. Jandt (2021) identifies Affection, process, and substantive conflict within workplace conflict (p. 228). Affection deals with personal harm; process deals with preference; and substantive deals with ethics and policy. Each of these can be coined as value-based.
