From past experience, the standard deviation has been found to be 21.5 pounds. For 35 cases randomly selected from today's production, the average breaking strength was 341.0 pounds. Construct and interpret the 99% confidence interval for the mean breaking strength of the briefcases produced today.

2. Working independently, each of two researchers has devised a sampling plan to be carried out for the purpose of constructing a 90% confidence interval for the mean  of a certain population. What is the probability that neither of their confidence intervals will include the population mean?
