The organization that I currently work for employs 3000 employees and all these employees are broken down into departments. The workforce of Children's National Medical Center is very diverse and some of the employees work off-site from the hospital. The problem that we currently encounter is that the organization has a policy that all contracts must go through a legal review before any work is done inside or outside the hospital. During previous years the legal department at Children's National Medical Center used to review all contracts in paper, but since documents were going missing, the legal department came up with a solution of having to make an email account in outlook for all contract submissions.

All contracts were submitted to this email account and legal was checking the submissions and assigning them to the corresponding attorney or reviewer. The process worked for a while, until the volume of contracts that were submitted via email increased. It was hard to keep up with the documents and keep records in storage. The organization came up with another solution and invested in a software to facilitate the workflow and eliminate having to do everything manually. Children's National Medical Center launched the new software but there was no official training provided on how to utilize or submit a contract for legal review. After launching the software, all departments were directed to utilize the system with very little guidance and it is challenging for these departments because they have never received proper training. The company's policy states that all contracts must be submitted for legal review, the organization needs training on how to utilize the system.
