The Winter book on WWI examines the Great War Through several major themes and divergent views on each one. The major themes are the following: an examination of the origins of the war and who was responsible for it, the experiences and perspectives from both the German and English side, the peacemaking process and how it affected the future, and lastly the long-term cultural consequences of the War. You are to discuss each theme by analyzing the responses of each historian. Which views do you agree with? Which do you disagree with? Why? Be sure to give detailed examples from the book in your paper. Be sure to cite any examples you use from the book.
