When you have a program that has two versions (advance, student) and two segments that willingness to pay are different price points, do you compare consumer surplus in dollars or percentages. Example: If commercial users are willing to pay 150 dollars for student version but you are only charging 50, there is 100 consumer surplus. They were willing to pay 700 for the advnaced version. If I am offering both versing do I need to price the advanced versiion at 600 so they have the same amount of consumer surplus, or should I figure out percentages? Costs don't matter for this question.
