Problem: Erikson's theory claims that when young adults are confused about whether a romantic partner is "the right one" for them their confusion may not be about the partner, but about their own identity, which they had failed to fully form a sense of in the previous stage. In Erikson's view, such people cannot form a truly lasting relationship until they have established a clear sense of who they are. Do you agree with this?
