RESEARCH PROPOSAL
ROLE OF CURIOSITY IN JOB ATTITUDES AND BEHAVIOURS
RESEARCH QUESTIONS:
1. Will Curiosity be positively associated with Work Engagement?
2. Will the relationship between Curiosity and Work Engagement be stronger with satisfactory Supervision?
3. Will the relationship between curiosity and work engagement be stronger with Organizational Support?
4. Will Work Engagement be positively associated with Job Performance?
5. Will Work Engagement mediate the relationship between Curiosity and Job Performance?
In the proposal had mentioned about using the job performance scale but I have taken two surveys one is an employee survey in which I have included curiosity questionnaires, job engagement questionnaire, intragroup conflict questionnaire, Perceived organisational support questionnaire and job characteristics questionnaire. I have used to job performance scale, creativity scale and boundary spanning scale in the supervisor survey. Unfortunately I haven't gotten matched sample data for both the surveys so I am only considering the employee survey which is why my some of my research questions and hypotheses need to be changed. I am attaching all the questionnaires I have used, spss file and the search guidelines.
Research Questions
1. Will epistemic curiosity be directly associated with Job engagement?
2. Will social curiosity be directly associated with job engagement?
3. Will the relationship between epistemic curiosity and job engagement be stronger with perceived organizational support?
4. Will the relationship between social curiosity and job engagement be stronger with perceived organizational support?
5. Will the relationship between epistemic curiosity and job engagement be weaker with intragroup conflicts?
6. Will the relationship between social curiosity and job engagementbe weaker with intragroup conflicts?
7. Will the relationship between epistemic curiosity and job engagement be stronger with job characteristics?
8. Will the relationship between social curiosity and job engagement be stronger with job characteristics?
Please do check the scoring, reliability and validity of the questionnaires used too before going forward.
Information provided by client:
1. The supervisor data needs to be ignored and we need to proceed with employee data only.
2. Sample for employee is 100.
3. As the supervisor data wont be used, research questions will be updated
4. Survey results are collected from corporate organisation.
5. Job engagement will be main dependent variable, 2 curiosity scales are the independent variables and job characteristics and other 2 variables are moderators
6. There need to be atleast one positive and one negative moderator
7. Atleast 5 research questions are required.
8. Please mention the ethical considerations and no gatekeeper has been used
9. The format of traditional part needs to be implemented
10. Descriptive analysis, correlation and regression analysis are required.
The negative moderator will be the intragroup conflicts. The positive moderators will be job characteristics and perceived organisational support.
Also please check the dimensions of each questionnaire such as job characteristics it has quite a few dimensions. 7 point likert scale was used for all questionnaires.
Please do moderation analysis as well. And the data was collected from corporate organisations in India.
