Charlotte, an 84-year-old widow with Parkinson's disease, is no longer able to take care of herself in her own home and is being admitted to a long-term care facility today. Because of her fixed income, she has also been forced to apply for Medicaid to pay her way. Her only child, a son, lives in a different state and is unable to care for her, but has come with her to help get her settled.
