You will define and outline a plan of study by identifying your chosen areas of study, graduate electives, and relevant coursework. Interdisciplinary background provided in this course will help you structure your degree more effectively as you complete this plan of study and statement of purpose. You will utilize this assignment to develop course sequencing and present how an interdisciplinary degree may prepare you to meet your personal and professionally goals.

Begin by completing the 11 question Interdisciplinary Plan of Study Survey found in Module/Week 1. You will then complete a 2-page statement of purpose, or intellectual journey, detailing what brought you to the Master of Arts in Interdisciplinary Studies program and what you hope to accomplish upon graduation. The purpose of this assignment is to allow you to assess your journey to becoming an interdisciplinarian. Your writing should be clear and concise. You will need to follow the formatting or style guide requirements associated with your Area of Study I.

Your paper should include the following 4 sections:

· Who are you? (i.e. upbringing, education, influential people, worldview, traits and skills, etc.)

· What led to your interest in a Master of Arts in Interdisciplinary Studies?

An Area of Study is an academic discipline and grouping of coursework offered through Liberty University. These Areas of Study, combined with graduate electives and INDS course courses, will total 31 credit hours. There are two core courses in the Interdisciplinary Studies, INDS 500 and INDS 600. You are currently enrolled in INDS 500 which must be completed within your first 9 hours of acceptance into the program. INDS 600 (Interdisciplinary Research) must be taking within the last 9 hours of the program.

Students cannot register for this class on their own and must call their Academic Advisor to be enrolled. An Advisor Permissions Hold is assigned to this class to ensure it is taken at the end of the program.
