Read all of the fiction stories. Then choose one fiction story to use for this annotation assignment. Find ten important quotes from the story. Either type out or copy and paste the quotes into the discussion board. Using the tools in the discussion board and write at least 10 notes to yourself about the importance of those quotes (you can also copy the quotes into an MS Word document and use those tools, then attach the document to your post). Include information such as specific literary devices, plot structure, thematic topics, patterns, meter/rhythm/pacing, etc. You can use the background color feature and the yellow background color to highlight different words and phrases. Then, by hitting enter after each line you highlight, you can use a different font color and write your explanation of why you highlighted that particular word or phrase, the important literary devices contained within the word or phrase, and its thematic importance, etc.

After you have posted, go back through and choose another person's post and comment on their annotations. Did you have similar observations about that particular story? Did your observations differ? Write at least 50-100 words explaining your support or counter to their observations about the particular story they wrote about.
