Student Stock Portfolio Project

1. Pick at least five but no more than ten publicly traded (preferably on NYSE or NASDAQ) individual company stocks (no ETFs or other funds, REITs are allowed).

2. You have (simulated) $100,000 you will use to buy your selected stocks in round lots (multiples of 100 shares), but weighted any way you choose (e.g. 200 shares of ABC, 500 shares of XYZ, etc). Track any cash left over as part of the portfolio.

3. Use the close price of the stocks as of Friday, Sep 1, 2017 for your purchase price.

4. Record the price of the stocks each week as of the close of the last day of the week (normally Friday).

a. Credit dividends to cash during the holding period.
b. Do not add to any position.
c. If the company gets purchase the credit as if you sold all shares.
d. If the company goes bankrupt, your holding goes to zero.

5. Use the close price of the stocks as of Friday, Nov17, 2017 as your final sale price.

6. You will make a 5 - 10 minute presentation of your portfolio including:

a. A summary of your portfolio (how much of each stock you "purchased" and remaining cash, quantity and percentage of overall portfolio)
b. A short description of each company's operation
c. The description of the characteristics of the stock

i. Capitalization (Large, Medium, Small)
ii. Growth or Value
iii. Trading Market

d. Why you chose the stock including descriptive analytics of your choice (P/E, Dividends, Current news, etc.)

e. Analysis of your final results

i. Value of your portfolio
ii. Which securities did well and which did poorly
