Question - Chapter 18 discusses ethical challenges facing marketers, as well as the environment being everyone's need. In 2010, the BP oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico was a huge disaster for our country, our environment, and for the company at fault.

Then, answer these questions:

1. Why was it important for BP to stop the oil from spilling further, clean up what was spilled, repair damages, repay business losses, and make other efforts to right their wrong?

2. How should BP have apologized and handled the PR from this incident.

3. Do you think BP did enough? Do you think America has forgiven the company?

4. What might have happened if BP had disregarded ethical concerns and just left the spill alone? It might have cost them less in time and money to simply ignore it. Would that have worked in their favor?
